Coreline puts California's $2.00 lead-acid battery fee and your refundable core deposit on their own invoice lines for California orders, and can charge the deposit elsewhere too. It holds one deposit per battery. When a core comes back, it checks the group size matches and that it is within 45 days before saying refund. Deposits past 45 days with no core can be marked kept. A To do list shows deposits near or past 45 days and batteries missing a group size. Not tax advice.

What it does
Inside Coreline
every order, its invoice with the fee and deposit lines, a To do list (no deposit set, batteries with no group size, deposits past or near 45 days), and a new-order form.

How am I billed?
$9 a month through Shopify's own app billing, on your normal Shopify bill. No card is taken here and there is no share of your sales.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Shopify tells the app the moment you uninstall, and the app erases what it kept for your store. Customer data requests from Shopify are answered the same way. The full detail is on the app's own privacy page.
