Carded is for stores selling alcohol, vapes and nicotine, CBD and hemp, or knives, especially across states, provinces or countries. Keep a table of minimum ages by category and place. It shows a storefront age popup and asks for a date of birth before payment. Each restricted order is checked against the strictest age for what it holds and where it ships, on the order date, and a failing order is held so it cannot ship by accident. A typed date of birth is a statement, not proof of identity.

The problem
Carded is for stores selling alcohol, vapes and nicotine, CBD and hemp, or knives, especially across states, provinces or countries.
The age is not one number. Wine to California and wine to Quebec need different ages; CBD may need a different age again; vapes need an adult signature on delivery. A popup that asks "18 or over?" on a store shipping wine to the US is checking the wrong thing. Carded is built around that: the strictest age for each order, to the place it ships.

A date of birth a buyer types is a statement, not proof of identity. Carded makes sure every restricted order has one and that it clears the right age; it does not make a store compliant, and the rules table is the merchant's to keep right.

Works on every Shopify plan. Where a part needs Shopify Plus, the app says so on the screen rather than hiding it.
How am I billed?
$4.99 a month through Shopify's own app billing, on your normal Shopify bill. No card is taken here and there is no share of your sales.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Shopify tells the app the moment you uninstall, and the app erases what it kept for your store. Customer data requests from Shopify are answered the same way. The full detail is on the app's own privacy page.
