Progeny Apps / Money, tax & reports / Pare
For shopify merchantsShows what each of your apps really costs, which ones overlap, and how to remove one safely.
Pare reads your Shopify bill export and adds up what each app really costs a month: plan, usage charges and per-order fees, also shown per order and per $1,000 of sales. It flags two apps doing the same job, apps unused for 90 days, new charges about to start, and usage fees that jumped. It reads your theme for scripts left behind by apps you already removed. Each suggested cut comes with a removal checklist so you keep your reviews, redirects and data. Pare never uninstalls anything for you.

The problem
What every Shopify app really costs — plan, usage and per-order fees added up — what that is per order and per $1,000 of sales, which apps do the same job, which you stopped using, and a safe checklist for taking one out.
It answers what a merchant looking at their app bill actually asks:
- What does each app REALLY cost a month — not the plan price, the bill?
- What is that per order, and per $1,000 I take in?
- Which two apps are doing the same job?
- Which apps have I not used in months?
- Which free trial is about to start charging?
What it does
Inside Pare
what the apps really cost a month, what the plan prices say, the usage and per-order money the plan price hides, cost per order and per $1,000 of sales, the savings if the cuts are made, every problem in words with a link, and the biggest costs.
every app with plan, hidden charges, real cost, per order, per $1,000, last used and its flags. Each app in detail: the bill broken down, the usage trend, your keep/cut decision, the removal checklist (tick each step off), every field, usage by month, and its scripts.
each pair on the same job, side by side, which to keep and why, and what cutting the other saves.
every app script in the theme, its size, whether it blocks the page, and the leftovers from apps already gone.
the apps to take out, every reason, the total saved a month and a year, trials to decide on before they bill, and each cut's checklist.
paste or pick the Shopify bill export; paste the theme's layout/theme.liquid and config/settings_data.json to find scripts and app embeds; orders and sales by month; and the exact Admin API reads the live app makes.
shop name, the lines Pare draws (unused days, trial warning, usage jump, expensive, earns its keep), the "as of" day, look, backup / restore / sample / erase. Records live in this browser under the localStorage key pare.v1. Save a backup file from Settings now and then. A record that cannot be read is set aside under its own key, never written over.
