Despatch takes the tracking sheet your supplier, warehouse or print shop sends: order number, tracking number, and optionally carrier, SKU and quantity. Before anything is fulfilled, every row is marked Ready, Look first or Held, with the reason in words: no such order, cancelled, already fulfilled, no tracking number, a wrong check digit, a carrier that does not match the number, one number on two orders. One press fulfils ready rows. A row with a SKU fulfils only that line. Every run is kept.

The problem
Bulk fulfil Shopify orders from the tracking sheet your supplier sends — with a dry run first that catches a mistyped tracking number before a customer gets a dead link.
Stores that ship through a supplier, a 3PL or a print shop that hands back a spreadsheet of tracking numbers. Shopify's own admin fulfils one order at a time; its bulk CSV route needs the app store. What it does
Inside Despatch
UPS (1Z + 16), USPS IMpb (20–22 digits starting 91–95), FedEx (12 digits), DHL Express (10 digits). Anything else needs the carrier named in the sheet, or the row is held.

USPS, FedEx and DHL mismatches are only warned: those methods are written to the published rules but not yet proved against an official number here, and a real tracking number must not be blocked on unproved maths.
