Open a lot with a starting price, an optional hidden reserve and an optional buy-now price. Bidders enter the most they would pay, and Hammerfall bids for them one step at a time, marking every such bid as automatic in the history. The bid steps are published. A bid in the last two minutes extends the end. Buy-now disappears once bidding gets going. The winner gets a checkout link and 48 hours to pay; if not, the runner-up is offered the lot at their own maximum. Unlimited auctions.

What it does
Inside Hammerfall
the price is the runner-up's maximum plus one step, never more than the leader's own maximum. Equal maximums: the earlier one leads. Maximums stay private; every bid placed on someone's behalf is marked.
$1 under $100, $2.50 under $250, $5 under $500, and so on (the steps eBay uses).
When a maximum reaches it, the price jumps to the reserve at once.
once bidding reaches the reserve (or, with no reserve, once anyone bids).
a bid in the last minutes (2 by default) moves the end to that long after the bid.
in 48 hours — measured from the end of the auction — is passed over; the runner-up is offered it at their own maximum, never the winner's price, and only if that meets the reserve.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?
